Part four of our health timeline is going to focus on fatigue. I have mentioned in other parts of this series how we can be eating all the right things in the right amounts and not see the results we are wanting or feel the way we want to feel.
The reason being, even if we are eating well we are not able to absorb all the necessary nutrients we need when our gut health is damaged. Among the other symptoms we start to notice with damaged gut health, fatigue frequently follows.
FATIGUE IS A SIGN OF A GUT HEALTH ISSUE
Much of our digestion and immune system function is tasked out to the bacteria in our gut. So the more we learn about how crucial gut bacteria and health is, the more we learn about ourselves and how to get rid of unwanted conditions and symptoms.
If we want to feel full of life we need to eat foods with life still in them!
It is no secret that gut health is directly impacted by our food choices. It’s not realistic to say “do not eat processed foods”, but the less ingredients the better. If we want to feel full of life we need to eat foods with life still in them! By this I mean fruits, greens, veggies, etc.
You give your gut the best chance of health by:
- fueling it properly
- by staying hydrated, and
- well oxygenated.
Being dehydrated definitely causes fatigue, but so do many other things.
HORMONAL ISSUES WITH GUT HEALTH AND FATIGUE
As I mentioned in part three, hormones play a huge role in our gut health and if we have an over abundance or lack of certain hormones we are likely to be fatigued. Our bodies are working hard, sometimes harder than they need to.
Some other causes of fatigue are a sluggish adrenal gland (hormone issue), a liver trying to process a lot of toxins, and PMS symptoms. Kind of a wide array of causes and aspects of digestion and nutrition to consider when trying to get rid of that fatigue feeling. But I do have to say one of the best aspects to healing my gut has been regaining my energy.

MORE SLEEP WON’T ALWAYS HELP
When my kids were little I truly survived off naps, and really who doesn’t? You have kids who aren’t sleeping through the night and you have to recoup that rest from somewhere, but when your kids start reaching the ages of 2,3, and 4 you should be able to get rid of the daily naps.
The thing was though, I couldn’t stop needing a nap! So this signaled there was something wrong. I was either having disrupted sleep, not eating the right things, or if I was eating the right things I wasn’t absorbing the right amount of nutrients.
Fatigue is also a symptom of many autoimmune diseases, and as I have mentioned I have Celiac Disease. So again, there are so many things that could be the cause of fatigue, but more times than not it ultimately boils down to gut health.
GET YOUR ENERGY BACK WITH A GUT RESET
Every single person that has done my 12 Week Gut Reset has noted more energy, less fatigue, and just feeling more of life. I had a 72 year old in one of my classes that napped every afternoon and now no longer needs one. That alone is worth the process of healing your gut.
Many times we think of things as age related, such as loss of energy, when it is really nutrition related and nutrition we have been consuming for 30, 40, even 50 years. The good news is it’s all very reversible and does not take nearly as long to reverse.
So what is the 12 Week Gut Reset? It’s a program that I designed to help people overcome chronic illness, unwanted health symptoms, and most importantly gain their energy back to live life to the fullest. Click here to learn more on how to get started.
